Physical Design & Integration - ESI

Specialisation: Helicopter structure design for primary and secondary structures, detail design, modification, installation methods

Job Description: The engineer is responsible for designing equipment used in installation and maintenance of several components during integration, test and operations stages of the aircraft. He will be completely responsible for taking design from concept stage till manufacturing by creating manufacturing drawings after design validation.

The engineer is also responsible for delivering design for secondary structures, their in-stallation like support/interface brackets and Equipment Support design, de-sign/modification and maturing aircraft interiors and outboard equipment.

 

The Activity mainly involves:

  • Concept design and maturing/detail design of aircraft interiors and Outboard equip-ment design and installation using CATIA Surface design, sheet metal and part design work benches
  • Perform risk and threat analysis for new or existing designs and preparing user manuals for operators
  •  Perform fundamental stress analysis of design
  •  Ensure Design validation against Requirement and appropriate level of representa-tives required
  • Preparing definition drawing for manufacturing for all above type of deliverables

Education & experience:

Job description: Materials and Processes Engineer – Interior Materials

Context:

Within the scope of the Materials & Processes (M&P) Engineering, the job holder will contribute towards the global effort to design, develop & qualify materials and related manufacturing processes along the Aircraft lifecycle.

Details:

The jobholder will contribute to the Interiors Materials & Seals Technology on qualification activities by analysing the need for qualification, preparing the project plan including test plan, procedures, managing the suppliers, labs and analysing the test results, preparing the compliance sheet and standards for Elastomers, Polymeric materials (Thermoplastics and Thermosetting composites) and Structural seals used in all Airbus programs.

 

Job scope:

Repair Stress Engineer

Job Description:

The job holder is responsible for justification of the damages and repair solutions from static strength and fatigue and damage tolerance point of view on Time, Cost and Quality.  The job holder will work in close collaboration with a design colleague to provide a suitable repair solution.  The end customers are Airlines/MRO. 

 

The various activities to perform are:

  • Create high quality integrated and certified engineering repair solutions for the airlines and internal customers within the given time.
  • Carry out stress calculations to assess design solutions using standard hand and computer methods. Further create, compile and co-ordinate engineering documentation to achieve valid technical data for repairs.
  • Liaise with Design, Fatigue & Damage Tolerance and other appropriate Airbus departments to come up with optimum design solutions for the airline customer and to define maintenance programs.
  • Liaise with Principal and Senior Stress Engineers in order to ensure that methods, assumptions, data and procedures reflect on-going developments.
  • Identify and support local improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through process, methods and tools improvements ensuring alignment with respective European focal points.
  • Ensure with its technical signature delegation, that final repair is brings the aircraft back into an airworthy condition.

System Testing Engineer

Role Purpose:

The tester’s principal aim is to confirm and support the safe, reliable and effective operation of Airbus product related features and functions across sub-system, system and aircraft levels, primarily using ground based test rigs and the analysis of flight test and in-service data. 

The jobholder will contribute to the Avionics system Integration testing by preparing & performing system tests and analyse the test results on all Airbus programs using Remote and/or Virtual Test Means.

  • Define System testing methods, strategy and planning, execute tests, record results, perform analysis, record and classify defects. Writing summaries of test outcomes, Test Result Analysis, certification cards

Repair Static Stress Engineer

Job Description:

The job holder is responsible for the justification of repair solutions from a static stress point of view, on Time, to Cost and to Quality.  The job holder will work in close collaboration with design and fatigue colleagues to provide suitable repair solutions.  The end customers are Airlines/MROs. 

The various activities to perform are:

  • Create high quality integrated and certified engineering repair solutions for the airlines and internal customers within the given time scale.
  • Carry out Static calculations to assess design solutions using standard hand and computer methods. Further create, compile and co-ordinate engineering documentation to achieve valid technical data for repairs.

Accountabilities

Training Devices Operation Engineer

Accountabilities 

  • Leads and coordinate all the activity with the respective Training Devices operation team.
  • Ensures the operation of the Training Devices in order to keep a level of reliability requested by Airbus training standards.
  • Is accountable for the high quality level and timely actions when performing trouble-shooting interventions following devices failures or instructors request.
  • Is accountable for providing technical troubleshooting outside Airbus working hours and therefore without immediate supervision.
  • Acts as the technical focal point for the operation Team People concerning the operation of simulators he supervises.
  • Participates to the technical support and follow-up of the training sessions
  • Ensures the training center operation continuity outside normal working hours and report to the duty manager.
  • Keeps the devices at the right level of by performing the required updates.
  • Support Safety initiatives related to Training and Flight Operations Support as part of the Safety management activity , including contribution to Product Safety Process (PSP)  and Safety Management System (SMS)

 Main activities

The job holder is in constant relation (24 / 7) with instructors and trainee customers as the front line support regarding Training Devices operations. Customer’s satisfaction is his priority.
He is accountable toward the hierarchy, for all his team decisions: technical, operational and relational.

Training devices maintenance and operation tasks:

  • Coordinates and performs simulators and trainers daily operations (version change, pre-flights, instructors call).
  • Plans, coordinates and performs preventives maintenance tasks and modifications defined.
  • Deals and performs curatives task in a timely manner and with high level of quality.
  • Coordinates and performs the simulator software update package installation.
  • Coordinates, performs aircraft Data Base updates and visual models alignments and/or modifications.
  • Liaise effectively and constructively  with FSTD Manufacturers, Suppliers and 3rd Parties
  • Coordinates analyses and solves all the problems raised by customers and instructors.
  • On instructor request, demonstrates functionality of instructor panel. (Dry lease customers).
  • Promptly communicates to line management all matters for attention

Troubleshooting and discrepancy remarks interventions:

  • Performs on the spot troubleshooting interventions.
  • Solves all the discrepancies remarks linked to hardware failures.
  • Ensures that analyses, answers, solving or reports on all the discrepancies remarks raised on Training Devices are performed.

Training devices supervision:

  • Concerning Training devices he supervises with his team.
  • Ensures and coordinates the necessary corrective actions following problems recorded during Preventive and corrective maintenance, DRs and recurrent qualification tests.
  • Manages the training device parts and spare parts.
  • Ensures compliance with the Compliance Monitoring System at all times
  • Participate to the recurrent qualification if the schedule permits.

Training devices improvement and updates:

  • Performs and follows-up projects linked to the reliability improvement or obsolescence problem.
  • Performs Aircraft Data Base updates and specifics demands

Safety initiatives:

  • Analyses reported in service events to identify any safety or environment issue.
  • Report any (potential) safety issue or (potential) safety event that is detected in the frame of the day to day activity
  • Report any (potential) environment issue or (potential) environment event that is detected in the frame of the day to day activity.
  • Can contribute, on request of their safety representatives, in any safety enhancement initiative as part of Safety management activity (PSP, SMS), eg, contribute in the analysis and follow up of in-service events, contribute in the identification and analysis of hazards and risk assessment in their own domain of activity.
