As part of the AGILE development team “ADT”, you will support fulfilling the Airbus Defence and Space engineering AGILE vision by leading and animating the extended Agile organization, and motivating agile project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering agile development projects that provide exceptional business value to users. You will contribute and support several concurrent high visibility development projects using agile methods in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple business lines.

This position will be based either in France, Spain or UK.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be to:

  • Contribute to, and support building and implementing an appropriate AGILE collaboration framework, in alignment with our LEAN and Program / Project Excellence efforts and in accordance with company standards.
  • Contribute and support the implementation of the defined AGILE solution to deliver exceptional business value, including the establishment of key success metrics for capturing and measuring the associated performance improvement within the engineering organization.
  • Define the AGILE methods and training for engineering, including the actionable ADS engineering roll-out plan, supported by the Engineering Academy and HR.
  • Run AGILE development projects, and animate a team of AGILE professionals including scrum masters, in accordance with agile principles.
  • Coach, train and/or lead multi-functional, multi-national teams.
  • Support and lead animation of the AGILE community, as an AGILE expert, an advocate, educating, empowering and counselling the extended network teams within the relevant Airbus Defence & Space functions (Digital Transformation Office, Operations, others).
  • Strive to continually improve AGILE within Airbus Defence and Space to the latest "State of the art" level, contributing to our overall Program / Project Excellence competence development.

This role will involve frequent travel worldwide for business according to the projects and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

You will have the following skills and experience:

  • Educated to engineering degree level or equivalent
  • Proven AGILE experience on development projects (or equivalent) involving multiple developers.
  • Proven success and experience with AGILE within or for large enterprise across a diverse range of projects.
  • Credible experience needed in the field of AGILE / LEAN / development of complex systems
  • Have the ability to fill any and all roles within an AGILE project.
  • Scrum Master Certified (or in progress) and Scaled AGILE experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, self-driven, ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic customer-focused environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, planning skills, critical thinking, ambiguity tolerance, creativity and emotional resilience.
  • Ability to multi-task individually and with the team in a fast paced environment.
  • Comfortable in supporting multinational teams, co-located or multi-site in complex development environments.
  • Understanding of systems, software and product development life cycle models (a strong plus) as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
  • Negotiation level of English.
