Description of the job

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.

We are looking for highly motivated graduates aged 18 to 28 years, who are citizens of the European Union (all E.U. nationals, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). Tasks & accountabilities

The A330/A340 programme offers an interesting and challenging environment that covers a wide spectrum of aircraft activities. This ranges from new developments, steady production rates, supporting a large in-service fleet & managing ageing aircraft. The A330neo aircraft is expected to enter service in 2018 and represents the next step in the ongoing evolution of this successful widebody aircraft with further developments to come.

An opportunity has arisen in the A330/A340 Programme Team, for a Programme Leader to work within the ATA28 (Fuel System) & ATA47 (Fuel Tank Inerting System) Continuous Product Development (CPD) team.

The role will principally involve support and, subject to appropriate development, leadership of CPD activities ranging from documentation updates to high profile Request For Work activities. The role may also support process enhancement to improve project efficiencies.

The Programme Leader will work closely with the Multi-Functional Team (MFT) including the Chief Engineer's team, Engineering, Procurement, Configuration Management, Airworthiness & Customer Services functions as well as external suppliers to ensure a mature improvement/change/solution is available to cost & within the committed programme timescales.

This is an important role offering the opportunity to take responsibility for work packages and further develop a wide range of Programme and Project Management skills.

In this context, your main activities will include:
Project Management support to major projects as required:

Leadership of Continuous Product Development (CPD) tasks as appropriate
o Project Management - Project baseline recording and monitoring
o Communication & reporting
o Creation of business cases for spend approval as required
o Creation of integrated plans taking into account all activities and stakeholders associated t with a project
o Integration and management of stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of tasks
o Management of and interface with the MFT in particular the engineering function
o Risk and Opportunity Management
o Lessons learnt management

You will report directly to the Fuel System Programme Manager. You will be expected to provide regular progress reporting and quickly escalate issues that need to be resolved by senior management.

Required skills

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills/attributes/knowledge:
 Strong team player with good verbal and written communication skills
 Experience in facilitating, coordinating and directing meetings
 Knowledge of supplier / customer / stakeholder management.
 Ability to work in a trans-nationally managed environment
 Good judgment resulting in a "best for business" outcome amid competing priorities
 Technical competencies in project management tools and processes

  • An understanding of budget control processes
  • KPI creation, monitoring and management

 Knowledge of configuration management would be an advantage
 Technical knowledge to enable a full understanding of the issues and challenges would be an advantage
