Description of the job

Airbus has a vacancy for a Health & Safety Risk and Performance Improvement Specialist, within the corporate Health & Safety team at Blagnac, near Toulouse, France.

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced safety professional, with a strong record of delivery and excellent English language skills.

You will support the Head of Health & Safety (H&S) in the management of occupational risk and compliance. Clearly there will be a particular focus on the management and delivery of risk evaluation and control, performance analysis, corporate reporting and the harmonization of philosophy, methodology and standards.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your work will involve hazard identification, risk assessment and the definition of practical risk controls. This will include managing the health and safety risk register and maintaining the health and safety elements of the enterprise risk register.

You will contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of the health and safety management system, as well as supporting applications for relevant Authorisations.

You will also support the Divisional Health & Safety Key Account Managers and their delivery teams, ensuring the best possible service for the various customers and stakeholders. In a wider context, you are expected to be a visible and professional ambassador for Industrial Hygiene and Safety, encouraging commitment to a world class health and safety culture. This may require significant European travel, and working with or managing remote and external specialist resources.

Required skills

You will be a member of a recognised occupational safety association or institution, and so you will be expected to undertake appropriate professional development.

Your expertise will be pivotal in the development and application of harmonised risk assessment philosophy, methodology and standards.

Naturally, you will already have detailed knowledge of relevant European legislation and strong experience in the application of formal risk assessment methodologies such as Hazop and FMEA.
