Description of the job
The Airbus Chief Technology Office (CTO) is looking for a Design leader to join Urban Air Mobility - Pop.Up Next project. This position is to be based in Toulouse.
The Pop.Up Next projects aims at demonstrating that flying modular air and ground vehicle is possible and at establishing Airbus’ leadership in this technology. Baseline concept is based on a passenger capsule to be connected to a ground Module or an Air Module. Airbus is in charge of complete Air Vehicle demonstrator. Partnership with automotive industry company will enable Airbus to progress quickly towards Urban Air Mobility promising market.
The Airbus Pop.Up Next team operates under the Airbus Exponential Organization (ExO) core principles: speed, rapid adaptation to changes, employee empowerment, wholeness and absence of rigid hierarchy.
Using current CityAirbus architecture as staring baseline, you will have the duty to elaborate, design principle, DMU and detailed design for the new Air Module. We will actively participate in the development activities for Air Module, including some activities out of design perimeter (system integration, documentation, safety analysis …). Leading a small team, you will also be able to perform design activities by your own.
The position is offered within Airbus XO conditions and salary policy.
Tasks & accountabilities
Specific responsibilities include:
- Responsible for design activities (structure and system installation)
- Acting as Design focal point in front of authorities, of our automotive partner and others involved companies.
This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
Your Boarding Pass:
- Strong background in all design activities (structure and system installation, configuration management, Product Data Management)
- Strong background in metallic structure, mechanism, composite structure
- Good background in all airworthiness and Aircraft certification
- Good background in Catia V5
- Experience in helicopter engineering is desirable
- Knowledge of overall aircraft design and systems
- Negotiation level in English is required. German would be a plus.
- This position will require some business travels
