Description of the job

As part of the Optical Instruments' AIT (Assembly, Integration and Testing) Mechanical Precision Engineering team, the trainee Engineer will be integrated into the IASI NG Interferometer team.

In order to carry out its mission, it will be provided with design, 3D printing and assembly tools.

This 10 weeks will start from February 2018 (Date subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

1. Design a model of a deformable parallelogram mechanism by selecting rotating elements for the angles. Their interfaces will be designed using CAD software.
2. Supply (in 3D printing) the initial system and the elements defined in the previous design (machining, purchasing catalogue).
3. Assemble the model (screws and gluing) and validate its operation in the end.
